Tom Ryan was drawn to Will, a scared, deaf, and mostly blind elderly dog, by an online ad and brought him home to live with him and Atticus. Will's only owners had become too frail to care for him. Tom hoped to provide Will with a dignified death in the rustic beauty of his New Hampshire home. However, when Will bites him several times and acts violently, Tom realizes he is in for a challenge.
